SIA Inspiration: Portrait of Emilie Flöge
It’s the first Style Imitating Art of 2013! The inspiration is “Portrait of Emilie Flöge” by Gustav Klimt:
Emilie Flöge was a designer and lifelong friend of Klimt’s. Did you know that together, they created the style of loose-fitting dresses seen in a lot of Klimt’s paintings? I love all the colors hidden under the seemingly monochromatic blue and the rich, mosaic-like texture of the dress. Hope you guys have fun with this one, and remember to send me your outfit photos and/or links by the evening of Monday, January 14. The post will be up by Tuesday morning.
