Yunnan Diary #1: Dali
Gods, it’s been ages since I did a travel diary post! As I’ve mentioned in the SIA posts, I just got back from a week-long trip to Yunnan, China. One of my friends (whom I traveled to Cuba and Russia with) was going on a group tour to China and invited me along. As I’ve never been to China before, I jumped at it – usually, I would balk at a group tour, but with China, it’s just easier. Plus, I haven’t been anywhere since the pandemic, and the idea of planning a trip feels a little daunting to me, so group tour it is!
Our first stop in Yunnan is Dali City. It used to be overlooked by tourists who tend to flock to bigger cities...
