I remember distinctly when my obsession with jewelry began. It was my first Christmas working in retail, and a fussy customer who really didn’t want to spend any money asked me what type of jewelry I would recommend as a gift for someone my age. At that point, my jewelry box contained a simple silver necklace that had been a gift for my high school graduation and two pairs of very inexpensive earrings – hanging pink stars and green moons – that fit in well with my punk-without-trying-too-hard wardrobe of sale rack skinny jeans {I was ahead of my time} and Chuck Taylors.
