Crossing the Finish Line
Today was the last day of school and also the 5th grade advancement ceremony. I taught the 4/5 combination class this year (16 4th graders and 16 5th graders in one class), so it was fun to participate in the ceremony this year. Today was particularly special to me because many of my 5th grade students were also in my class last year as 4th graders and it has been so rewarding to get to know each one and see them make so much progress over the past two years both academically and as individuals with their own unique personalities and interests. I am really going to miss this group--they worked hard, were enthusiastic about their learning, and developed good friendships...
