There’s word for that.
You know that feeling of anticipation when you’re waiting for someone to show up at your house and you keep going outside to see if they’re there yet? This is the word for it: Iktsuarpok .
Okay, so maybe I cannot truly pronounce this interesting word. But I definitely felt iktsuarpok in the later part of yesterday. As I sat on the second floor, perched up in my office which overlooks a parking lot, I could have sworn someone kept walking toward my front door. My eyes continuously played tricks on me until I finally had to close the blinds. Out of sight, out of mind {right?}.
