Transformed
I find it amazing what snow can do to a city. Not only does it transform the physical landscape, covering even the most unsightly surfaces in a blanket of crystal white, it seems that snow has the ability to transform people. What would seem like an isolating situation - being snowed in and unable to travel - seems to ignite a sense of community within people. Neighbours meet, sometimes for the first time, while engaging in the physical labour of clearing driveways and walkways, many people doing this twice-over while assisting those who are unable to wield a shovel themselves. Nieghbourhood hills and parks are crowded with families...
