I’ve been at my freelance script reading job for nearly three years now, and every year around March and April, we’ll get tons of scripts for some reason. I think the fact that the deadlines for a lot of screenplay competitions are in May, and a lot of studios are looking to buy/hire in May too, has a lot to do with it, but if you’re supposed to submit your script in May and you’re only now rewriting or polishing it, I don’t think it will be ready in time.
