An afternoon at the Colosseum
I've had the pleasure of visiting Rome quite often in the past few years, but this was the very first time I stepped inside the Colosseum and it was unexpectedly magical. Walking through the arched entrances and through the ancient corridors, finding myself all of a sudden inside the arena and in front of such a breathtaking view was a very strange feeling indeed. For a moment, everything around me sort of disappeared and the tiers of seating were crowded with thousands of spectators cheering for gladiators, historical re-enactments and sea battles... can you picture the place being completely flooded? For how absurd and unquestionably cruel it could have...
