making a statement
When considering purchasing a new piece of clothing, I find it incredibly useful to walk around the store with the item and hold it up to other clothes. This helps me come up with ideas of how to wear the particular item, as well as possible colors it can be paired with. [A former co-worker gave me this advice when we worked together in retail.] I did this recently in LOFT with these shorts . While I was walking around the store, one of the sales associates said to me, "Yeah, those shorts are really hard to match." I stopped in puzzlement. "I mean, you could probably wear it with a cream top." When I got home, I put together a few outfits to prove otherwise... and...
