Part of embracing trends is learning how to incorporate them in the smallest ways. Obviously, when I bought this necklace, I didn't know that emerald would be "in," but it's the only item in my closet of that color (ironic considering emerald is my birthstone...) and I thought it would add some diversity to my accessories. I've never been one to go out and buy clothes because the color is trending, so I get lucky when something I have fits with the "in" colors of that season (a la "Devil Wears Prada" and the cerulean sweater)!
