Seasons roll on by....
When we consider our lifespan in years, it deceptively has the sound of longevity. Some of us may think that we don't really need to ponder ahead, make plans, or assess our lives with much immediacy. But, what if you were told you only had 20 more winters? Or 25 Summers? 30 Springs? Life sounds much shorter this way, to me, and it dawned on me one afternoon that I may have only 25 more summers to meet my neighbor over the fence and exchange seasonal gifts. Or 30 more times to watch the purple crocus emerge in my yard. I felt a sense of urgency to create my life with more awareness of seasons, and how quickly they pass. ...
