I love the buildings in Paris; the old monuments, immense and imposing, built in an era when they engulfed the neighbourhoods where their foundations were laid... and now, stuck between several smaller buildings at either side, encircled by busy thoroughfares where cars speed by, day and night. One of these buildings is the Institut de France. My husband and I stumbled upon it, Starbucks in hand, during a brisk afternoon walk.
