The Viewing, The Funeral, and Some Family Fun Funerals are the weirdest. While they are obviously sad, solemn and a time for grieving, funerals are also occasions for celebration, remembrance, and the coming together of people. On October 30th my Scottish granny died in her sleep at 97 years old, leaving behind four children, sixteen grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. It's sad she's gone, she was a feisty lady with a lust for life, still trotting the globe into her early 80s. Between her viewing and her proper funeral over two hundred people came to pay their respects. It was so, so nice to see my extended family, meet my dad's remaining uncles and aunties, and eat soooooo much food! I think I ate my weight...
