PREP SKULL
Seems pretty standard for event planners to expect 'fancy casual' attire from their guests... even if concepts like 'neat', 'fancy' and 'put together' are borderline foreign to you. You won't win the battle by showing up with two middle fingers in the air and a flannel tied around your waist, but you might feel slightly more true to yourself with a subtle skull-printed blouse underneath that OH SO SOPHISTICATED mauve blazer. No disrespect to crisp shorts, bowler hats, and flats! Clearly I'm a fan of 'functionally fancy fashion' (I know, I know - alliterations, ew). But I do believe every woman owes it to herself to get real. And if that means donning skulls to a stiff...
