Update on my Curly Girl Method experimentation: I have abandoned ship on the whole conditioner-only thing. Too greasy for my liking. So, I caved and bought new shampoo, though a cheaper kind than I had previously been using. I have been trying to be very scientific about the whole curly girl process, only changing one thing with each wash and taking notes about what is and isn’t working.
This weekend I tried plopping for the first time—which is basically putting your wet hair into a towel or t-shirt after the shower and securing it to your head so that the curls don’t get weighed down by gravity. You can kind of see the results in today’s cover...
