This month’s Your Own Twist honors Business Women Day which recognizes and celebrates the contributions made by women in business. While the first Business Women Day wasn’t officially celebrated until 1982, the holiday’s roots go back to September 22, 1949, when Hilary A. Bufton Jr. and three Kansas City businesswomen founded the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA). Business Women Day is celebrated annually on September 22, the anniversary of the ABWA.
