Birthday Ballet Bash
It was my birthday yesterday and my sister’s birthday last weekend, and to celebrate, we decided to splurge and went to a performance of Giselle with our mom. We don’t get a lot of ballet performances in Hanoi, especially classical ones like Giselle , so it’s quite exciting. Of course, it cannot compare to the performance of La Bayadere I watched at the Mariinsky during my Russia trip (though oddly enough, the plots of the two are pretty similar), but for Vietnam, it’s very well done and left me impressed. And our own Opera House is steeped in history as well. All in all, it was a great way to celebrate our birthdays!
