Open House
This year I am mentoring a student teacher, a smart and capable woman who wants to have her own classroom in the near future. In my classroom, in my own head, I am so obviously THE TEACHER. So it was odd to me that on the first day of school, parents were walking right past me to give her forms and introduce their children to her. When I told my Handsome Husband what happened, he asked if she's older than me (we're the same age), if she's taller than me (yes), and if she wears glasses (yes). I also hypothesized that my first day of school outfit had perhaps been too cute. Today was our school's Open House night, and I was determined to look like I'm in charge. ...
