Oh no I didn’t! Oh yes I did!
Yesterday’s work outfit saw the welcome return (for me anyway) of last winter’s black velvet ‘principal boy’ shorts. I love them – velvet is such a soft, tactile fabric and these are sooooo comfortable. Teamed with a pyjama-style blouse and Nikes to create quite a bizarre outfit, it has to be said:
These shorts are a bit too fancy dress for boys’ tastes but they seem to accept them with an ‘oh well, I guess if they’re in fashion’ shrug. I don’t think short velvet trousers have been in fashion since 1890 but I’m not letting on!
