This quote does not live in isolation in his book – it’s part of a longer talk about boredom and a quiet life and persistent work. That greatness, whatever medium you seek it in, requires consistent and persistent work to the exclusion of most other things.
Therefore, those seeking to be great will often have monotony, work, and dull-dom. Because the focus will be on the goal, and not an exciting life.
What is my take away here? Do not feel being boring, nor quiet. Instead, focus on the work, whatever that may be and accept that...
