I so wish I'd had this dress ready in time for all the autumn colors, but at least I'll have it for next autumn. I can't resist a nautical print, especially in color this lovely and I was trying out the new Butterick Retro pattern and this time I put the V in the neckline. I also made the optional bow for the front, but rather than attaching it, I glued it to a brooch backing so that I could use it or not as I choose. I really like the way this fabric lays on the skirt. For my Walking on the Moon post , the direction of the print was noticeably on its side, but this one is more subtle and has a softer effect.
