I have a confession: As a born-and-raised Chicagoan who then moved to upstate New York for four years, I think New Yorkers can be pretty wimpy about cold weather and snow. It’s my firm belief that anything above 20 degrees is just not that cold, and I wear flats (with bare ankles) anytime the temperatures are above 38 or so degrees. And on a few occasions, I’ve been one of the only people in my office who makes it in on the day of a major snow storm. (Honestly, there’s something to be said for having the place to yourself — so quiet!) But what really gets me is when I see people wearing...
