If you ever find yourself in the Southern Peloponnese, you need to visit the medieval castle in Methoni. I love exploring castles and imagining what life was like waaay back when. The Venetians built the castle around the early 13th century and is one of the largest ones in the Mediterranean. The main attraction is the Bourtzi, a prison used for executions during the Turkish Occupation. It looks really pretty, but when you think about it, it’s kind of creepy!
