DIY suede elbow patches.
i've always liked sweaters and blazers with elbow patches, and thought that it'd be super easy to sew suede patches onto a sweater. jen and i visited the thrift store, looking for cozy sweaters to apply the patches to. i had leftover suede from the purse i made over the summer; we cut the suede into ovals after carefully measuring the area that we wanted to cover.after cutting the ovals out, we mixed gold metallic paint with fabric medium and carefully painted designs onto the patches. i originally thought i'd just do the border of the ovals gold but decided to get a bit wild and crazy and do stripes. yup.we pinned the patches onto the backs of the sleeves and tried to...
