A Spring Outfit & My Novelty Purse Addiction
I like styles reminiscent of a bygone era and made classic by the passage of time (I mean there was an age when this dress length was edgy or trendy!), but I also really like my novelty purses as well. I like my little red purse that looks like a lobster, my radio handbag with a built in speaker, and yes my little wicker purse in the shape of a pineapple. As quirky as these are, they too have their roots in history, many of the modern novelty purses we see today are inspired by vintage designs. Novelty purses were all the rage in the 1920s and you can still find vintage wicker purses on Etsy or eBay in the shape of monkeys or fish or turtles--dubbed wicker "pet"...
