Bottomless Lakes, New Mexico
Just outside of Roswell, New Mexico, there’s a state park called Bottomless Lakes . Highly underrated, this is a veritable oasis in the middle of the desert defined by a string of (very) deep lakes big enough to swim, fish, and even scuba dive in. From the top of the surrounding cliffs, you get a sweeping view of the valley below. My husband took me here on my first trip to New Mexico and it’s always been one of my favorite places to come back and visit.
