Everything was going well. My alarm had woken me up at 4.15am, and thankfully I'd been excited enough to avoid pushing snooze. I got myself ready and packed, and headed out to the bus stop at 5.30am. Seaside Heights, where I live, can be a bit of a scary place at times, and no more so than at 5.30 in the morning, where everyone who crosses the street looks like they might stab you.
