a new fall collection just landed at Talbots and i think i’m in love. in love with all things parisian even though i’m american classic through and though. but it’s grand to find a little french inspiration. in case you hadn’t heard they invented the breton tee and turned it into a classic. it started off as a uniform for all french navy seaman. orignally, there were twenty-one stripes stitched into the navy and white shirt: one for each of Napoleon’s victories. legend has it that if a sailor fell overboard, they could easily be spotted in the water due to their striped tee.
