Old Friends
It's taken me nine months to be comfortable enough to leave Coco and take some time for myself. Nine. Months. I've left her maybe once or twice for work, but otherwise her and I are attached at the hip. It is so amazing to be able to be with her all the time, but I also forgot just how necessary having a little time to breathe and be yourself without a baby can be. So much of your identity gets wrapped up in being a mom that it gets really easy to lose yourself. I am convinced that it is of the utmost importance to get away every now and then and be who you are sans baby.
