Japan Part 2
Our first week in Japan was pretty intense. The day after we flew into Tokyo we took a bullet train to the Miyagi prefecture, which is sadly now known as the region struck by the 2011 earthquake/tsunami. It's also where my mother was born and raised and I have so many wonderful memories of visiting my grandmother and relatives when I was young. It's definitely a rural part of Japan but I was so thrilled to take my children and show them their grandmothers roots.....a much more mellow side of Japan compared to Tokyo.
