Stop and Go
How I loved the game of “Green Light, Red Light” at Skate World. It started with us skating as fast as we could around the rink. At “red light,” we’d all freeze. The last to stop would be disqualified. And then, we’d wait. The DJ would try to trick us with “green . . . night” or “green . . . sight.” A few eager beavers would break and be cut. At “green . . . light,” we could start again, each trying to be the at the front of the pack, and the winner, when the game ended. Kimono jacket, thrifted. Tank, Old Navy.
