I mentioned on twitter recently that I will gladly watch really terrible movies if said movies involve mermaids. This also applies to faeries, unicorns, and any other mythological creatures that I have at one point in my life pretended to live among. This past weekend I manged to squeeze in two flicks that quenched my fantasy world thirst, namely Ondine which is about Colin Farrell catching a pretty lady in his fishing net whom he thinks may be a selkie a.k.a. a seal who has turned human (totally reasonable assumption) and Night Tide about a sailor who falls for a carnival performer with secret supernatural "sea people" powers.
