Buffalo Gals, Won’t You Come Out Tonight
…and explain to me why “buffalo plaid” is called that. And while we’re at it, what’s a buffalo gal?
OK, I just looked it up. The song “Buffalo Gals” refers to girls from Buffalo, NY. That’s not as interesting as I was hoping. I thought maybe buffalo gals were women in the wild west who tamed and rode buffaloes and, like, solved crimes and engaged in other general badassery. Nope, just chicks from upstate New York. Boring.
Well I still don’t know where the term “buffalo plaid” comes from and Google didn’t help me fast enough. Whoever can give me the best made-up story...
