Santa Maria Della Salute In my last post , I mentioned to show you more of this church called Santa Maria Della Salute. It's a beautiful church and a definite must-visit if you're in Venice. It is situated at the entrance of the Grand Canal. This church was built in 1630. Due to a plague that was so severe, the Senate promised to build a church in celebration of the VIrgin if she could save the city. Within weeks, the plague subsided and on 1st April the following year, the first stone of the Salute, which means health and salvation in Italian was laid. After visiting Santa Maria Della Salute, we walked further up to the edge of the Grand Canal...
