Around Ubud- Tegallalang + Monkey Forest
Day one of our Balinese adventure begins with a tourist heavy itinerary! Since my friends and I decided to call it an early night, we were able to get up early the next day and book a tour around the farther places of the city. From among the many packages our hotel offered us, we booked the half day tour that took us to see how Batik is made, the Monkey Forest in Ubud, and the awesome Rice Terraces at Tegallalang.
Look at these prints! I always figured Batik prints were produced computerized but seeing these local artisans do their magic was just astonishing! There was a girl threading the cloth, and a bunch of others using heated metal things to paint on...
