It's The Real Thing I'm a sucker for old school branding. The only part of my degree I actually remember now, 7 years on, is a module on vintage advertising. Those classic ads for Pears Soap, Volkswagen and Marlboro will stay with me forever - the sign of a truly brilliant marketing campaign. The 50s and 60s are known as the golden age of advertising, and for good reason - many companies that are still prevalent today created their iconic branding in these decades. Although the Coca-Cola logo has existed pretty much as is since 1887, the instantly-recognisable white ribbons were added in 1969 and the branding has remained unchanged ever since.
