The Secession building My stay in Wien was short, but I've still had the chance to visit the Secession Building before going to airport. It's an exhibition hall built in 1897 by Joseph Maria Olbrich as an architectural manifesto for the Vienna Secession (a branch of Art Nouveau, also know as Jugendstil). The motto of the Secession movement is written above the entrance of the pavillon "To every age its art, to every art its freedom". Below there is a sculpture of three gorgons representing painting, sculpture and architecture.
