Working For The Weekend
The school year might be over, but my work is not. Other than my usual daily script reading and translating, this year I’m also a proctor at the school’s entrance exam (colleges and universities in Vietnam still do entrance exams, it’s a really big deal). It takes place this Thursday, which means on Thursday I get to spend three hours doing nothing but staring at those terrified kids as they’re trying to write an essay about films and stuff. Fun times.
And on the weekend, I have a filmmaking workshop – it’s a 12-week crash course, and at the end of the course you make a short film. I’m teaching the writing part of it,...
