Buttoning quandaries (up or down?)
Ph. Michael C Dumler For those of us who have chosen to make a living out of long-winded descriptions pertaining to the way a garment looks, feels or should be styled, wording is everything. Hence why I have spent the better part of this morning trying to figure out the difference between a button up and a button down . An existential nuance, surely, when talking about the long sleeved, collared top that Man on the Street would simply call 'shirt'. For according to the Wangs ' and the Diesels' of this world, this season the trick is all in the fastening. Forget all you know about how-low-can-you-go , and other cleavage-happy...
