Kentucky Derby Style
One of my favorite moments in My Fair Lady is when Henry Higgins takes Eliza to the races to give her a go in society, and see how well she fares with her new, proper dialect. The scene is striking. All are dressed to the nines if ever anyone dressed to the nines, in black and white with nothing but the chicest of style. So ever since I saw that movie at the tender age of oh probably 5, I've dreamt of making a similar appearance at a similar event. The Kentucky Derby is one such event, notorious for colorful, preppy style and of course, extravagant hats. While I won't be making the jaunt this year (maybe next year?...
