Usually Whitney and I don't need an excuse to throw a party, so when Spodee Wine sent us a bottle of their Sangria to try, we just knew we had to don our favorite sundresses and host a back porch gathering. Spodee isn’t just your average wine, it's actually a wine fortified with high proof moonshine, that you mix into cocktails. This historically inspired drink is a throwback to a Depression era hooch that was a deceptively strong, sweet, and easy-to drink beverage. Made from a mix of country wine and whatever else was lying around the farm including fruits, herbs, spices and of course moonshine, this beverage had us ready to kick up our spats...
