Every modern pinup worth her (lack of) britches needs the inspiration of an old-time favorite or two. Mine is unequivocally, unabashedly Hilda . Drawn from the ’50s through the ’80s by Duane Bryer, Hilda nonetheless flew under the radar until fairly recently . And I love her, I really do. For one thing, I think she is probably me. Her body and face shape are almost identical to mine. She’s always in the back of my mind during shoots: poses that suit her will likely suit me as well. Plus, that penchant for flowers. I already wear vintage floral dresses every damn day. Soon I’ll be reduced to naught but strategically placed blooms.
