Makai & Charleston Fashion Week
Last summer our entire family went to Hawaii. It was an amazing trip, and one we will never forget. We went to the big island and got to see absolutely everything there was to see. We even hiked to the green sand beach...with a 6 year old and a 3 year old...for 4 hours. That's another story for another time. One of the trinkets I brought home with me was this necklace. It says very simply, "Makai". In the Hawaiian language it means "toward the ocean" or "toward the sea". It's really a directional term like North, South East or West, but to me it means a whole lot more than that. I have always been a beach person. The soothing wind and waves always...
