Fake a Taller Boot
I love the look of sky-high boots . . . the taller the better! To fake the look of a taller boot, I use socks or legwarmers in the same color. Observe: A pair of dark gray leg warmers (from Sock Dreams) lengthens the line of my Matisse boots. A navy blue sock fakes the look of a taller shaft, but doesn’t keep the water out. My faithful Nine West boots are almost tall enough. A bit of brown sock takes them to the perfect height. In this case, the leg warmer isn’t the same color as the top of the boot, but it creates the illusion of a taller, striped boot.
