Plaid dress refashion When I spotted this plaid dress in the thrift store it was floor length and a bit too boxy. It was new with the manufactures price tag of $89, and the thrift store had priced it at $25. Big mistake, as most people who shop at this store are not planning on spending that much, regardless of what the MSRP was. So it sat and sat, until it reached the final reduction, and I took this Eddie Bauer wool dress home for a dollar! I went about altering the dress, hemming it to above the knee length and working with the original seams of the dress to take it in and change the silhouette from a shift to a sheath. It didn't even take that much time, and has allowed me to continue...
