Good Light
Someone very dear to my heart recently reminded me that we all have a special light within us.
Looking at the Urban Light sculpture outside of the LACMA from afar was something I always found intriguing. The 202 restored street lamps from the 1920s and 1930s look powerfully uniform and awkwardly utopian in their placement.
I finally made my way to the captivating forest-like installation and it wasn’t until I wandered between the 20-30 feet sculptures that I began to really appreciate their individual beauty. The lamps are of 17 styles which vary depending on the municipality that commissioned them.
These lights serve as a reminder to me...
