Ooh la la, Old Lady Chic. Often I look at photos like this one from The Sartorialist (stunning, no?) and consider eras past when American women once put effort into dressing. It wasn't just that they cared more; it was a cultural norm to dress well, to look presentable. Along came denim and Juicy tracksuits, and now it's abnormal for the average modern woman to dress up for anything.
