Day at the Bay
The last few days we have been drenched by storms and I've been cooped up in my classroom with the kiddos pretty much all day since rain means no outdoor recess. Thankfully today the rain held up enough for us to enjoy the day at the shoreline for a bay laboratory field trip. The kids were split into three groups and cycled through various stations. We walked out into the bay with hip wader boots and used seine nets to find all sorts of interesting ocean creatures, the kids explored mud flats and used microscopes to examine their findings, we looked at various creatures in an aquarium, and we walked along the shoreline.
