What I Wore: Shirt: Banana Republic Factory - $12 Scarf: Target - $15 Belt: NY&Co - $20 Skirt: Target - $20 Shoes: eBay - $50 The easiest way to pattern mix (and ease yourself into pattern mixing) is to wear a striped shirt with a pattern scarf. It doesn't come across as crazy as full-on big-piece mixing with tops and bottoms, but it gives just a little something extra (without being over the top). I love scarves that have a major neutral-tone base, but a lot of other colors you can pull from (like the one I'm wearing). If you're afraid of the obvious clashing prints, you can always go for a pattern in the scarf...
