IT'S OKTOBERFEST TIME Today I am wearing something very different, a dress that doesn't follow any trends or seasons. A "Dirndl" is a traditional costume worn by women of all ages in the alpine regions of Germany and Austria. Traditionally a garment worn every day, it nowadays became an outfit for special occasions such as cultural festivities, religious holidays, weddings on the countryside and of course the Oktoberfest. There are different styles from region to region and also more formal silk dresses and casual ones in cotton or linen. My Dirndl is made of silk and I have an additonal red and white vichy blouse and a black apron which give it a different look. You will...
